New Venture Law Group was born out of the need to create a top quality, efficient and affordable option to inidviduals, start-ups, as well as small and medium sized venture backed companies by cutting overhead costs and utilizing technology. The goal is to offer partner level legal services to clients at associate level rates. By intersecting expertise developed at a traditional law firms and common sense, realistic business approaches, New Venture Law Group is able to offer a more innovative and responsive approach to resolving our client’s legal issues. By focusing on Accessibility, Responsiveness, Efficiency and Excellence, we are able to provide legal solutions that do not inhibit business but rather progress business. We also maintain a network of specialized attorneys outside of our own core expertise who are able to assist in providing additional legal services to our clients.
Since the inception of New Venture Law Group, we have been working closely with technology innovators acting as an on-demand general counsel for tech companies large and small. We handle the day-to-day legal needs for technology companies, individuals and small businesses in a wide range of industries, including advertising, mobile, health, eCommerce, financial and consumer. Susan Rickard Hansen
From being an Assistant District Attorney to becoming one of the youngest partners at the respected law firm of Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, Susan founded New Venture Law Group with the goal of providing partner level legal advice to clients at an affordable rate. She has been successful in achieving this vision by cutting overhead costs and providing virtual legal assistance while establishing a network of attorneys with the same goal in mind.
Susan has represented a broad range of clients, many of whom are growth-oriented start-up companies and small businesses. She provides a variety of outside counsel services to her clients advising them on various aspects of the day-to-day legal needs of their businesses, including: pre-incorporation structuring and inter-founder issues, equity compensation, employee and consultant engagements, intellectual property assignment and non-disclosure agreements, commercial transactions, corporate governance, director and officer fiduciary duties, real estate and leasing issues, as well as the resolution of frivolous claims. While representing these companies, Susan learned an appreciation for the business side of transactions, and uses this experience to help each of her clients achieve the results they want without unnecessarily complicating a transaction. She takes pride in assisting her clients build and grow their companies and providing business oriented legal advice in a timely manner.
